写真は1周年の集いでの三末篤實司教による除幕。三末司教は、前年8月5日に米国と日本のストーンウォーク主要メンバー（米国＝ダット・ウオルシュ、アンドレア・ルブラン、ヨーコ・カワシマ・ワトキンズ、ジム・マーゴリス、日本＝海老根勲、中村朋子）と会い、教会の敷地に碑石を置くことを承認されました。三末司教は「この石は、聖堂に置くにふさわしい」と述べ、米国のメンバーは「石は、来るべき所に来たんだね」と喜びました。一周年のこの日、信徒の皆様の同意を得て、碑石は正式に受け入れられました。
This photograph was taken on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Stonewalk Japan 2005, on August 4th, 2006, when the memorial stone was unveiled. Bishop Joseph Atsumi Misue accepted the Stonewalkers’ request to place a memorial stone for the atomic bomb victims on the site of the Memorial Cathedral for World Peace, Hiroshima. American Stonewalkers, Dot Walsh, Andrea Lebranc, Yoko Kawashima Watkins, Jim Margolis and two representatives of Stonewalk Japan 2005, Isao Ebine and Tomoko Nakamura, met with Bishop Misue on August 5th, 2005. He said that the cathedral was a suitable place for the stone to remain. American Stonewalkers were delighted, saying that the stone came to the place where it was meant to be. On the day of the first anniversary, the church formally accepted the stone after having obtaining believers’ consent.
